Last year North Walsham Phoenix Group partnered with Reed Wellbeing and the NHS to bring free health checks straight to the heart of our community. Held right on the High Street, these pop-up clinics removed the usual barriers—no lengthy forms, no long journeys—just simple, face-to-face support where people live and work.
What is an NHS Health Check?
An NHS Health Check is a free appointment for adults aged 40–74 to assess risk factors for:
- Heart disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Kidney disease
- Stroke
- Dementia
Each 20-minute check includes measurements of blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index and personalised lifestyle advice.
