Ready to Learn: Free School Uniforms for Local Families

Editor · 25 April 2025 ·

Looking smart shouldn’t come at a high cost, so we launched a free school uniform giveaway working with North Walsham Community Shop.

Thanks to generous donations from local residents, we were able to offer pre-loved, good-quality school uniforms to families in need, completely free of charge. From shirts and trousers to jumpers and summer dresses, this small gesture helped parents save money and ensured children could start the school year with confidence.

Every child deserves to feel ready to learn and we’re proud to be part of making that happen.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and helped us turn this idea into reality.

Active Bodies, Full Tummies: Support from Victory Leisure Centre

Editor · 24 April 2025 ·

Over the past year, Victory Leisure Centre has helped us keep the North Walsham community moving and fed.

Thanks to their generosity, our members benefited from free guest passes, giving them the chance to stay active, social, and well, all without cost. During the school holidays, their packed lunches ensured children had access to nourishing food even when school kitchens were closed.

This kind of partnership makes a real difference, helping us support health and wellbeing year-round.

Thank you to Everyone Active and the fantastic team at Victory for being such a valued part of our community.

Over 100 kg of Kindness! 🛒💚

Editor · 23 April 2025 ·

Thanks to your generosity we collected more than 100 kg of groceries for North Norfolk Foodbank, bringing vital support. Every tin, packet and box was a reminder of the strength of our community when we pull together.

The Impact

  • Immediate relief: Supplies for households in need
  • Community spirit: neighbours helping neighbours

A huge thank-you to everyone who donated. Your kindness makes a real difference here in North Walsham.

From Seeds to Sharing: A Harvest of Kindness

Editor · 22 April 2025 ·

Last year, we handed out free seed packets and you returned the favour with homegrown goodness.

From tomatoes and courgettes to apples and beans, the generosity of local growers filled our community pantry with fresh, healthy produce. Each donation helped ease food costs and added variety to the meals.

Whether you planted a few pots on a windowsill or harvested from a full allotment, your contributions truly mattered.

Thank you for growing, giving, and making our community stronger.

Here’s to another season of sowing and sharing!

From Summer Support to Winter Warmth

Editor · 21 April 2025 ·

Thanks to the generous support of our grant funders and the strength of our community partnerships. North Walsham Phoenix Group was able to deliver meaningful help to local residents throughout 2024.

In summer, working closely with North Walsham schools, we provided eligible families with:

  • A slow cooker to support cost-effective meal preparation,
  • Pantry credit to help reduce food costs,
  • A voucher for the community clothes shop.

As the weather turned colder, our focus shifted to winter resilience. We gifted:

  • Heated throws to members aged 65 and over,
  • Additional pantry credit to help with rising household expenses.

We’re especially grateful to JB Postles for their help in transporting and delivering goods, allowing us to stretch our grant funding further and reach more households.
